Pros

Competitor Pros of AvidXchange
Tipalti AvidXchange builds AP around industries, with AvidSuite editions for real estate, construction, financial services, community association management, hospitality, healthcare and K-12 schools, where Tipalti sells one general platform. It also plugs into the systems those industries actually run, with AvidSuite versions for Yardi, MRI, Rent Manager, AppFolio, Blackbaud, MIP Fund Accounting, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage, Microsoft and Acumatica. Payments go out through the AvidPay Network, where the supplier chooses virtual card, AvidPay Direct or a mailed check. Tipalti’s plans start at $99 a month for accounts payable and $249 for mass payments plus per invoice and per payment fees, which buys cross border reach a domestic payer may never use.
BILL AvidXchange is aimed at mid sized finance teams with layered approval chains, and it splits purchase order, invoice and payment automation into separate products, with Accounts Payable as a Service for teams that want the work done for them. BILL prices per user, $49 for Essentials, $65 for Team and $89 for Corporate each month, so every occasional approver adds to the invoice, while AvidXchange quotes at the organisation level. Its Supplier Hub, Straight Through Processing and Invoice Status Inquiry let vendors check where a payment is without emailing your AP inbox. For a business with more approvers than AP clerks, that pricing shape usually favours AvidXchange.
Stampli AvidXchange’s vertical depth goes well past general AP, including lien waiver management for construction and FastPay for media alongside the property and nonprofit suites. Its integrations page is an A to Z directory of accounting systems, running from ABCoA and AccountMate through to Yardi, rather than a short list of mainstream ERPs. Payment choice is built in as well, with virtual credit card, AvidPay Direct and printed checks all held against the same supplier record. Stampli also asks you to request a quote, so this is quote against quote rather than list price against list price.
MineralTree MineralTree now trades as a Global Payments company and sends every pricing question to a demo request, so neither vendor posts a number to compare. AvidXchange separates purchase order, invoice and payment automation, which lets a team automate invoice capture first and bring payments across later. The Supplier Hub gives vendors self service status lookup, which takes the chasing out of the AP mailbox. Its property system suites for Yardi, MRI, Rent Manager and AppFolio have no MineralTree counterpart.
Medius AvidXchange organises itself around industry workflows, from lien waivers in construction to property management integrations, where Medius sells a general purpose spend platform. Medius publishes package contents without prices, its AP Automation tier listing unlimited users, one sandbox environment and three entities before a custom quote. AvidXchange’s AI and analytics sit on more than 25 years of AP data by the company’s own account. Suppliers pick their own payment method in the AvidPay Network, which is a shorter project than an ERP led spend rollout.

Cons

Competitor Cons of AvidXchange
Tipalti Tipalti at least publishes a floor, $99 a month for accounts payable and $249 for mass payments, while AvidXchange lists nothing: its /pricing/ URL returns a 404 and every call to action is Book Your Demo. Tipalti also moves money to more than 200 countries and territories in over 120 local currencies, which the domestically focused AvidPay rails do not match. Customer reviews of AvidXchange return again and again to slow payment processing and email only support with no named account manager. A business with overseas suppliers or several subsidiaries will find Tipalti’s multi entity setup the closer fit.
BILL BILL puts its entire price list in public: per user tiers at $49, $65 and $89 a month plus a fee table covering ACH at $0.59, a mailed check at $1.99 and an international USD wire at $19.99. AvidXchange gives a smaller finance team no figure to budget against until a sales conversation has happened. BILL also covers accounts receivable and expense management, so a smaller business can consolidate more into one subscription. Reviewers report payment holds and late vendor payments with AvidXchange more often than they do with BILL.
Stampli Stampli sells itself on responsive service and on leaving your ERP configuration alone, and AvidXchange reviews are consistently critical of support speed. Neither vendor posts prices, so the deciding factor tends to be implementation effort, and AvidXchange’s modular structure of separate purchase order, invoice and payment products means more scoping before go live. Stampli’s Direct Pay also keeps payment execution in one place rather than routing through a separate network. For a small AP department, that setup difference can outweigh the extra vertical depth.
MineralTree MineralTree sitting inside Global Payments means one company answers for the payments stack, where AvidXchange’s supplier network and AvidPay rails put another party into any payment dispute. A team on a single ERP with modest invoice volume may find MineralTree’s narrower footprint quicker to run. AvidXchange’s breadth is built for mid market volume across many entities, and below that it is a lot of platform to own. Its own reviews flag slow processing and payment holds as the operational risk in that trade.
Medius Medius publishes what each package contains, unlimited users, a sandbox environment and three entities on AP Automation, so the shape of the deal is visible before the quote arrives. AvidXchange offers no package sheet at all, only demo booking, which makes any side by side comparison slower. Medius also extends into procurement, expense and contract management for large organisations, while AvidXchange stays domestic in payment reach. Enterprises used to named escalation paths tend to notice AvidXchange’s lack of a dedicated account manager.

Reviews

  • G2 Review (Rating: 4.4/5): AvidXchange reduces manual invoice work and gives teams clear visibility into invoice and payment tracking, which many say improves overall AP efficiency. Several reviewers like that it integrates with over 265 systems without forcing a change to their accounting software, though some report slow customer support when issues arise.
  • CCapterra Review (Rating: 4.4/5): AvidXchange earns praise for “easy navigation,” flexible approval workflows, and strong visibility of accounts payable invoices company-wide. One manager highlighted a “great onboarding team,” while another user appreciated the timely case responses, yet some mentioned login difficulties and uncertainty about whether to contact the Avid community, chat, or support email for help.
  • 💬bbb.org Review: One business owner described repeated problems with receiving electronic payments despite requesting “ONLY PAY BY CHECK,” which led to late or missing funds and a five‑month delay before resolution. The complaint details multiple calls to customer service, frustration over being routed to the “epayment department,” and another unexpected $1200 electronic payment that reignited the issue.
  • 💬stampli.com Review: Feedback collected from multiple review sites paints a mixed picture: finance teams like the “very intuitive” interface, easy-to-navigate menu options, and electronic invoice submission that streamlines invoice processing. Others report pressure on suppliers to join the payment network, delayed or missed vendor payments, a steep learning curve with limited online instructions, and dissatisfaction with customer service responsiveness.
  • 💬Software Advice Review (Rating: 4.4/5): Users value granular control over user permissions, which lets administrators set highly specific abilities and restrictions for staff to strengthen security and compliance. Many credit AvidXchange with reducing manual tasks such as scanning/uploading invoices, routing approvals, and tracking payments, and say it helped their AP department go paperless. Some note the lack of a descriptive “word bank” for check statuses and extra steps when header dollar amounts fail to update line items.
  • Trustpilot Review (Rating: 3.9/5): Long-term customers describe AvidXchange as an integral daily tool that handles “nearly-innumerable” coding tasks and continues to improve year after year. Others highlight smooth implementation, seamless integration with Vantaca, quick check voids or stop payments, reasonable pricing, and a streamlined, paperless AP experience backed by responsive customer service.
